PPAGE, Florence -(nee Snelgrove)-Formerly of St. John's and Montreal. Passed away peacefully December 31st, 1996 in her 90th year at Eagle Ridge Manor, Vancouver with loving family members at her side. Florence was the beloved daughter of the late Jessie and Levi Snelgrove and dear sister of Elsie, Ralph and Lester (all deceased). Predeceased by husband Charles, she is sadly survived by daughter Glenda, and son-in-law Richard and dear granddaughter Lynlea, and by son Donald and daughter-in-law Johanne and by her nieces and nephews in Newfoundland and England. "She loved sweetly and gently with a warm and caring heart and was a dear and devoted mother and a true friend. We have all been richly blessed because she shaped and touched our lives."

Her husband, Arthur, predeceased her twelve years ago. PAYN, Donnie - Passed away peacefully November 30 at Ottawa in the loving arms of his parents Don and Jenny (Maclsaac) at age 16 years. Left to mourn but to remember his wonderful love of life are his sister Shannon and his brother Matthew who loved him and will forever remember their friend and playmate. Left to cherish his wonderful memory are his grandmother Mary Payn (Ottawa) and his grandfather Earl Maclsaac (Robinsons, Nfld). Also left to mourn are his great-grandfather Neil Dwyer, and a large number of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Before moving to Ottawa two years ago Donnie attended school at St. Paul's in St. John's, St. Peter's in Mount Pearl and Sacred Heart in Marystown, Nfld. After moving to Ottawa in 1988 he declared I love it here but there was just one thing missing - he couldn't go fishing like he did home in Newfoundland and he remembered all his friends there. Special, thank you to all who sent cards and flowers and messages while he was in hospital. Thank you to the Cystic Fibrosis Clinic staff who took care of him for 14 years and to Dr. Morris and especially Dr. Vaze who knew him as a baby and who called to talk to Donnie a few days before he died. PENNEY, Edward Joseph - Passed peacefully away October 27, 1991, after a courageous battle against cancer, Edward Joseph Penney, age 35 years. PENNEY, James- In his 81st year on Wednesday, May 14, 1997 at his residence on Hillcrest Road, Cambridge, peacefully surrounded by his beloved family, after a lengthy illness, with courage and dignity. Survived by his loving and devoted wife Elsie Sheppard: his two sons: Russell, wife Lorna, Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland, Robert; Cynthia Crane, her husband Ralph, all of Cambridge. Lovingly remembered by six grandchildren: Karen and Larry Little, David, Lora, Scott, Michele and Scott Chard. Sheri-Lynn; and two great-grand-children: Jordon and Hannah. James was born in Brigus, Newfoundland and came to Cambridge in 1966. He was employed at the University of Waterloo until he retired in 1977. He was a member of St. Andrew's United Church, the Royal Canadian Legion Preston Branch 126 and the Orange Lodge of Cambridge and an honorary member of the Cambridge Newfoundland Club. PiTTMAN, Helen Isabel - On November 3rd, 1992, Mrs. Helen Isabel Pitman of Valemount and formerly of Cache Creek, B.C. passed away at Jasper at the age of 77 years. Mrs. Pittman is survived by one daughter Sandra (Dave) Harvey of Langley, two sons; Charles (Alice) of Cache Creek and Bill (Shelley) of Salmon Arm also her daughter-in-law Elma of Quesnel. She also leaves several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one brother George Parson of Newfoundland, two sisters; Rae (Bill) Coultas of Newfoundland, Irma Matthews of Washington State and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was prececeased by her son James in 1991 and brother-in-law George Matthews. Mrs Pittman served with the Canadian Armed Forces during World War II: and up until 1959. before settling in Cache Creek. The family operated their own business in Cache Creek. In 1970 Mrs. Pittman settled in Valemount where she worked for a number of different sawmill companys. She was an avid gardener an accomplished painist and enjoyed curling, cross country skiing and gold panning. She also served as an Alderman in Valempont. He went to Kitchener in 1966 and was employed with Wackenhut of Canada for 10 years, retiring in 1977. He was a past member of the Loyal Orange Lodge, the Masonic Lodge and the Kiwanis Club of Bell Island.
