Predeceased by his loving wife Nellie Katherine (1980), sister Pearl (1985); brothers: William (1992), Cyril (1993). Leaving to mourn one daughter Ida K. Fagan St. John's; one son Peter (Jennifer), Harbour Grace: one grandchild Julie Alexis Fagan, St. John's; two brothers: Canon Randell R. BABSTOCK, Lewis Chesley - Passed peacefully away at his home on Thursday, April 21, 1994, Lewis Chesley Babstock, in his 90th year. Leaving to mourn his loving wife Margaret (Quick); two daughters: Linda (Edward Murphy) and Shirley (Christopher Facey); four sons: Jeff (Linda), Richard, Charlie (Linda) and Bill: two sisters: Mrs. Nellie Eales and Florizel (Mrs. Frank LeDrew); eleven grandchildren; and a large circle of friends. BADCOCK, Danielle Angela - Passed peacefully away at home December 18, 1989, Angela Danielle Badcock, 13 years, precious daughter of Gordon and Lona Badcock, Quigleys Lane, Torbay. Leaving to mourn one grandmother, Victoria Badcock; special cousin and friend, Eric Badcock; also grandmother, Mrs. Irene Hibbs; many special aunts, uncles and cousins; three dear cousins and special friends: Jennifer, Jacqueline and Jeanette Hibbs; also, many other relatives and friends. BALDWIN, William Thomas - (Bill), Age 66 years, died peacefully on September 14, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family. Predeceased by his son Albert Jr.. 1971, his parents Joseph, 1956 and Jane, 1961, his brothers John; 1971 and Bert, 1989 and a special mother-in-law, Isabella Mercer, Aug. 30, 1994. Leaving to mourn his darling wife Dorothy (Mercer); and seven loving children: Linda (Larry Hoskins), Yvonne (Randy Mercer), Betty (Phonse Didham), William Jr. (Donna), Don (Verna), Brenda [Tony Moore) and Kelly (boyfriend Dennis Lundrigan). He leaves precious memories to his ten grandchildren; Shawn, Jaime, Stephanie, Joanne, Mark, Natasha, Kerri, Kimberley, Andy and Nikki. BARKER, Jeremiah - Passed,suddenly away at home on November 15,1991, Jeremiah Uer) of Open Hall, BonavJstt Bay. BARNES, Charles Elson - C.D. (2nd and 3rd Battalion Canadian guards and R.C.R.) Left us on Saturday, March 16, 1996 in hospital Pembroke, Ontario in his 70th year. Charlie's body lived at 35 Harry Street Petawawa, but his heart and soul remained forever in his birthplace of Newfoundland. Remaining to celebrate his life is his dear wife of almost 50 years, Helen (nee Gallagher), his one and only son, Wayne and wife Cathy (nee Beland), his four very special grandchildren Derek, Cory, Carmen and Troy, who shall remember him always for his ability to enjoy life to its fullest, not the least of which was music, dance, and his Toronto Maple Leafs. Charlie also leaves behind one sister Betty (Abe Chavez) of Denver, Col., and brothers/sisters-in-law, Paul and Bett Mullett, Doug and Joan Gallagher (nee Legrow), Gladys Gallagher (nee Williams), many cherished nieces and nephews and his good friends who have shared a great part of his life. Predeceased by his parents (Ross and Daisy), sister Maisie, and brother Robert. BRADBROOK, Frederick James - 63, of Dartmouth, N.S. died July 13, 1996 in the Halifax Infirmary Hospital. Born in St. John's, he was the son of Frances (Cake) Bradbrook St. John's, and the late Arthur Bradbrook. He was a former member of the Canadian Armed Forces and had worked for the engineering department for the city of St John's. He was employed with the city of Halifax as a civil engineer for 20 years, retiring in 1993. He was an avid golfer and member of the Grandview Golf and Country Club. Surviving are his wife, the former Catherine Frew, daughters Jane (Mrs. Barry Short), Brown's Flat. N.B.; Elizabeth, (Mrs. Ernie Hilton), Fall River. Bransfield, Frances

The remains of the late Mrs. Frances Bransfield, who's death occurred at Bell Island on Sunday, July 9th, arrived by motor boat on Wednesday and were interred at the R.C. Cemetery, Rt. Rev. Mons. McCarthy, V.G. officiating.

Deceased who had reached the good old age of 99 years, resided at Carbonear until three years ago, when she went to Bell Island to live with her son Thomas, and was well known here and highly respected.

Of a very pleasing disposition, she was dearly loved by her many friends, and her kindly smile and cheery word will be long remebered.

The large concourse of relatives and friends which attended the funeral from the wharf to the cemetery, testify to the esteem in which the deceased was held

A devout Catholic and a true christian gentlewoman, she has gone to recieve the reward given to the followers of Jesus, and there to dwell 'Forever with the Lord.'

Death cast its fatal shadow over the community of Bell Island once again on Sunday, May 8th, when the gentle spirit of Mrs. Thomas J. Butler of Theatre Avenue entered into rest at the Grace Hospital. Mrs. Butler had been in failing health for the past two years, and despite all that medical science could do it was to no avail and she passed peacefully away the above mentioned date. She was in her 46th year. Possessed of a quiet and unassuming manner, she was esteemed by all who knew her and will be sadly missed from the local scene, where she lived for so many years surviving her are a loving huband, five sons, Leo, who is an able seaman in the Royal Canadian Navy at Dartmouth, N.S., but presently at home; Gordon, Paul, Thomas and Philip, Bell Island; two daughters, Angela and Margaret at home; her father, Mr. Jas. cole; a brother, Michael, and sister, Bride (Mrs. Chas. Power). The funeral took place on Wednesday morning to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, where Requiem Mass was celebrated by by Father W. K. Lawton, Interment was In the R.C. Cemetery. BUTT, Jennie M. - Entered into rest on January 2, 1991 at her home, Jennie M Butt, aged 73 years. Daughter of the late Harry and Mary Jane Crocker of Swift Current, Placentia Bay. Predeceased by her husband Edward T. Butt in 1996.and her granddaughter Deborah Barber in 1982. Left to cherich the memory of a loving and devoted mother are her five daughters: Deanna Barber of Tallahassee, Florida, Jane and husband John Pippy, Daphne and husband Gordon Cross, both of St. John's, Mary and husband Bruce Thorne of Pasadena, Joy and husband Garry Hobbs of Shawville, Quebec; and five sons; Bill and wife Barbara, David and friend Donna, both of Toronto, Paul and wife Diana of St. John's, Harry and wife Barbara of Summerford and Stephen and wife Marilyn of Clarenville and a dear daughter-in-law joan Butt of Toronto; lovingly remembered by twenty-five grandchildren and one darling great-granddaughter Meagan Hussay: she will be greatly missed as well by her brother Joseph Crocker and sisters: Sarah Smith and Betty Mercer of Clarke's Beach and brother William Crocker and sister Lily Smith of Swift Current and dear friends: Leah Piccott of St. John's and Gideon Smith of Swift Current and many other relatives and friends.
