Will of Michael Joseph Murray

In re     Michael Joseph Murray     deceased.

    Know all Men by these presents. That I Michael Joseph Murray, late of Woods Island Bay of Islands but now of Harbor Main Trader being in ill health and of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make and publish this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time heretofore made. And as to my worldly estate and all the property of which I shall die seized and possessed or to which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease I devise bequeath and dispose thereof in the manner following to wit: -
First. My will is that all my just debts and funeral expenses shall by my executors hereafter named, be paid, out of my estate, as soon after my decease as shall by them be found convenient.
I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Maud Murray all my household effects at Woods Island Bay of Islands, my horse, cows, sleigh, my stock in trade, the balance one hundred and Seventy-five dollars due me by W.H. Miller on the boats “Bros” and also six Hundred and nineteen dollars and sixteen cents deposited in Bank of Montreal at Birchy Cove, Bay of Islands, to have and to hold the same to her for and during her natural life.
I give devise and bequeath to my beloved daughter Catherine Amy Murray Eleven Hundred Dollars in money to be paid her by my executors hereinafter appointed also one suite of bedroom furniture now in the possession of my father Edward Murray to be for the sole use of herself, her executors administrators and assigns for ever with all interest accruing therefrom.
I give devise and bequeath to my beloved daughter Carrie Murray. Eleven Hundred Dollars in money to be paid her by my executors hereafter named to have and to hold the same to her forever with all interest accruing thereon,
I direct that the two shares which I hold in the business known as Thomas Smith & Co Ltd. St. John’s be sold by my executors immediately after my decease to the best advantage the amount realized, I devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Maude Murray to be and for the sole use of herself forever,
I devise and bequeath my gold watch and chain to my beloved father Edward Murray for his sole use and behoof forever.

    All the rest and residue of my estate of which I shall die seized and possessed or to which I shall be entitled at my decease shall be used in paying my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses and any sums remaining to credit of my estate shall be used in obtaining masses for the repose of my soul.
And lastly I do nominate and appoint the Reverend John Roe Parish Priest of Harbor Main and my father Edward Murray Esq of Harbor Main to be the executors of this my last will and testament. In Testimony whereof, I the said Michael Joseph Murray have to this my last will and testament set my name this eighteenth day of February in the year of Our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seven     M.J. Murray     Signed sealed, published and declared by the said Michael Joseph Murray as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us, who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto witnesses John Kennedy George Furey.
