Will of Joseph Legrandais from Newfoundland will books volume 4 pages 305-306 probate year 1884

In re
          Joseph Legrandais deceased.

Whereas I Joseph Legrandais of Bay St. George Newfoundland have made my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills be my at any time heretofore made.     In manner and form following     I do hereby give devise and bequeath unto my three children Josephine Mary Bishop, Louisa Catherine McDonald Joseph Arthur Henry Lind Legrandais an equal share of all my real estate personal property cattle goods and money that I am possessed of to be equally divided between them.     And I do order and desire that at the death of Louisa Catherine McDonald that if her child Bessie McDonald survives her two thirds of her share of my legacy willed to her by me will return to her sister Josephine Mary Bishop and Joseph Arthur H. L. Legrandais to be equally divided between them and the remaining third to her daughter Bessie McDonald.     And I do further desire and order that the legacy willed to Louisa Catherine McDonald is for her own sole support as long as she lives the principle to be placed in a safe Banking Company and the interest to go to her support.     And her daughter Bessie third of her mother’s legacy is to go to her support untill she comes of age and no part thereof to be made use of by her father or his relations and if her death occurred before she comes of age the portion left by this will of her mother’s portion to return back to Josephine M. Bishop and Joseph Arthur H. L. Legrandais or their heirs     I hereby constitute and appoint Josephine Mary Bishop to be sole executrix of this my last will directing my said executrix to pay all my just debts and the legacies hereinafter given out of my estate     In testimony whereof, I hereunto set my hand and seal and declare this to be my last will and testament in the presence of the witnesses named below this seventh day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three.     Joseph his X mark Legrandais (LS)     Witnesses, Modste Hallett, James McFatridge of Bay St. George Nfld.
