Will of Jeremiah Chaffey

IN RE:   JEREMIAH CHAFFEY.    DECEASED

I Jeremiah Chaffey of Crabbes, in the District of St George, being of sound mind and memory, do make and declare this my last Will and Testament.

I give and bequeath to my son Joseph the block of land - 80 acres more or less - situated at Maidstone.

I give and bequeath to my two sons Richard Chaffey and William Chaffey the block of land along by the River and Taylor's Road - about 50 acres more or less, the said land to be divided equally between them - Richard to have the Southern half and William the Northern.

I give and bequeath to my two sons Richard and William the 20 acres - more or less - situated near Crabbes Station, to be divided equally between them. Of the land which I own on the Islands in Crabbes River I give & bequeath to my son William (in addition to what he has now) my part of "Alexander Island".

I leave to my son William the sum of $75.00 (seventy - five dollars) cash, to my son Joseph $50.00 (Fifty dollars) to my daughter Mary Ann Susan Allez $25.00 (Twenty - five dollars) to my daughter Catherine Rachel Morris $25.00 (twenty-five dollars). I leave my bed and bedding to my Grandson Willoughby (the son of Richard) and I leave to my son Joseph my Maccanaw Suit and all my inside clothing.

All the remainder of my property and personal effects I give and bequeath to my son Richard, including Dwelling House, lands not mentioned above with money and all other things that I may be owner of at my death.

I appoint my son Richard Chaffey sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament to which I set my hand & Seal this 4th day of December A.D. 1926.

Signed by the said Testator as and for his last Will and Testament (by making his mark) in the presence of us, who at his request, in his presence and in the presence of each other, have subscribed our names as witnesses, being first read over and explained to the Testator.
