Will of Alexander Farnell

IN RE:   ALEXANDER SAMUEL FARNELL.    DECEASED

Newfoundland

Humbermouth.
Mar. 4th. 1926.

This is the last will and testament of me, Alexander Samuel Farnell, of Humbermouth, Merchant, being in sound mind, made on the above date.

I bequeath the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1000.00) to be used for the continuation of my daughter Audrey Mabel's education after she has attained the age of Thirteen years. The above mentioned amount is to defray expenses for a course in a protestant College in St. John's or elsewhere, for a period of not less than two years. The above mentioned One Thousand Dollars is to be invested in Government Bonds, Mortgage, or other good and safe securities, or to be deposited in the Bank of Montreal at Corner Brook.

Should my daughter die before attending College the above amount of One Thousand Dollars shall be payed to my brother Cyril Clyde Farnell.

The interest from the One Thousand Dollars mentioned above is to be paid to my wife Ruby Madeline.

To my wife Ruby Madeline I bequeath all my personal funds and effects, also all my property of whatever kind, or wheresoever situated, after all my lawful claims are paid by my executors, according to law; for her personal use and disposal, exclusive of the One Thousand Dollars mentioned above.

I appoint my wife as executrix, and my father Benjamin Farnell, and my friend Owen Brown, Business Manager, of Humbermouth, as CO-Executors of this my last will and testament.

In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal on the above date at Humbermouth, Newfoundland aforesaid.

Signed and sealed by the said Testator Alexander Samuel Farnell in the present of us, present at the same time, who in his presence, and in the presence of each other subscribe our names as witnesses.
