Shoe Cove

SHOE COVE (Fogo) - A fishing settlement in the district of Twillingate and Fogo. Large quantities of trout are caught here. The fishery is prosecuted late in the fall by means of hub-tows. This is the last settlement before coming to the French shore. A boat is stationed here every year to protect the fishery from French encroachment.
