In re: ELIAS GOWDY. DECEASED.
North West Arm March 23, 1904
In the name of God Amen I Elias Gowdy being of sound mind and retaining all my factilies in their normal condition my mind clear my memory good my judgement unimpaired do, here in the presence of these witnesses, will and bequeath my land and all my possessions as follows: -
First the land and property bequeathed to me by my late father which was one-half of that which he possessed the other half being left to my late sister (exclusive of Sarah Colbourne traps and such property as went to support the mother while she lived I give to my beloved wife while she lives) and when she dies is to become the property of my boys who are expected to care for the mother and if the mother need to alter this will so as to give a share to a daughter in order for her support she has the liberty to so do. My stages and fishing property is to be divided in the same way
The two children Mary Ellen Colbourne and Amos Colbourne of my late sister Sarah Gowdy Colbourne are to have one half that part of the property which comes to them through their late mother my sister namely Sarah G one half of that left by will which claim their mothers share of the property are not to claim to the house and stages which I myself have builded and also the land which I have cleared They can take their share of uncleared land.
