In re: CATHERINE MURPHY DECEASED.

In the name of God Amen I Catherine Murphy being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following first and principally I commend my soul to Almighty God and my body I desire may be deceantly intered at the discretion of my executors hereinafter named and as to such wordly estate as God of his goodness hath bestowed upon me I give and dispose thereof as follows that is to say I give the house I now occupy unto my eldest son James Murphy his heirs or executors I also give unto my son John Murphy the lower part of the house Lawrence Hunt occupies and the upper part of the said house

I bequeath unto my daughter Margaret Murphy for the term of ten years from this date thereof until Michael Lahy’s term is expired and then she is to have the new house Thomas Walsh occupies the whole house up & down and the whole house Richard Bowler occupies also the house Thomas Conway occupies her heirs executors

I also bequeath unto my John Murphy the house Martin Peddigree occupies and also the house James Walsh occupies his heirs executors both John and Margaret are to make two halfs of the ground I now occupies and after the term is expired they are to make two halfs of the whole ground between them share and share alike- When the term is expired John is to have the whole of Hunt’s house- The rents arising from Hunt’s house is to go for Masses for the good of my soul for two years the dwelling house I occupy James is not to get possession of until two years rent is paid into the Poor Box for my benefit and my husband’s- The house that Martin Phelan occupied I leave unto John Murphy his heirs executors I also leave my bed unto my daughter Margaret Murphy with what pictures are in the house and in the event of anything happening her her husband is not to have the place it is to go to her children My interment or funeral expences are to be paid by James and John both equal.
