---|
Last Will and Testament of the
I commit my soul to my gracious God and Saviour relying with humble confidence on his atonement and mediation trusting that he will never leave me nor forsake me but that he will guide me with his Counsel and afterwards receive me to glory. Shortly before I left England in 1832 I effected my life insurance with the Atlas Insurance Company in London England for the sum of £ 100 sterling one hundred pounds sterling, payable within three months after my decease for which I have paid annually a premium of £ 3.10.1(three pounds ten shillings and one penny sterling) ever since. For furthur particulars on my policy of Life Insurance together with the Bonus Circulars from the Office of the said Atlas Insurance Company and sundry communications connected therewith all of which (or copies thereof) are kept in my writing desk. I therefor will and bequeath the said sum of one hundred pounds sterling as stated in the Policy of my Life Insurance together with the sum of £ 67 sterling (sixty seven pounds sterling) stated to be the total addition to the Policy up to Christmas 1874 (see Bonus Circular dated 1st June 1875) and also any additional sum or sums (if any) to the Policy since the said Christmas 1874 to my three children Elizabeth Sarah McCowan, Mary Hannah Shelton and Theophilus George Netten to be divided equally among them as they are all equally dear to me. Also whatever sum of money deposited in the Savings Bank of St. John's Newfoundland on my account I give and bequeath to my three children aforesaid each of them to have an equal share. All this I wish and desire may be done as fairly and equitably as can be and in accordance with the forecept to be "like minded having the same love being of one accord, of one mind." And I hereby appoint my son Theophilus George Netten and my sons in law John at Shelton and John Roche McCowan to be my executors for the purpose of having this my will performed according to my wishes and intent.
Given under my hand this first day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty three at St. John's Newfoundland. William Netten - |
