Will of William Flinn

IN RE:   WILLIAM FLINN.    DECEASED

In the name of God Amen The tenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Seventy seven. I William Flinn of Bird Island Cove in the district of Trinity in the Island of Newfoundland planter being in health of body and in sound mind and memory do make this my last will and testament

First I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Elizabeth Flinn the garden joining Patrick Caseys land. A garden in Southern Cove joining William Hollohan's land A garden joining land in the possession of James Hill William Hobbs and Thomas Porter. A meadow joining John Chants land A meadow joining George Porter's land A meadow joining John Flinns land A meadow joining Robert Baker's land a Garden joining William Hobbs's land a Garden joining Abednego Hobbs land A meadow on the Room joining William Hobbs's land, also half of the upper Flake by the side of the road and two thirds of the fishing room and two thirds of the store that is on it, the dwelling house and the out-houses and all the land in my possession surrounding them and every thing that I am possed of whatsoever and wheresoever

Second I will and bequeath to my nephew Benjamin Flinn, one third part of stage, all the land the old store stood on, and one half of the upper flake by the side of the road

Third I will and bequeath all the aforesaid large fishing room dwelling house and out houses and every thing in my possession (excepting the above mentioned willed and bequeathed property which I leave to Benjamin Flinn herein before mentioned) unto Horatio Clouter to be held and enjoyed by him after my wife's death always provided that he does a son's duty to me and my wife; but at the same time I reserve to my wife the right to sell any part or parts of the herein mentioned property should she be at any time in need or distress I witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal to this my last will and testament this tenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy seven William his x mark Flinn L.S Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of us & in the presence of each other who have hereunto subscribed their names John G.
