Will of Tryphena Short

In re: TRYPHENA SHORT. DECEASED.

This is the last will and Testament of me Phenie Short I have committed my soul into God’s hands and am now awaiting his coming to take me to himself I give to my dear sister Ona Mercer my organ to be kept in the home at Belmont while she lives there and when she leaves she is at liberty to take it where she likes. Also I leave to my sister Ona Mercer my clothes inside and outside giving to my dear husband any article dress or any other thing he would like to have except my red dressing gown which I leave to my step mother Mrs. Mercer. Also the amounts of money on my savings bank book I leave to my dear little son Edwin to go towards his education if necessary my gold watch is to be Malcolm, to be worn in remembrance of me also I leave to my dear father my bible (The Christian Heral(?) Edition) my writing desk album autograph album and books I leave to my dear husband my silver cake basket given me by father & Maud as wedding present I give to them again, my tray given me by Ona as wedding present I give to her again all to be kept in remembrance of me. Also all articles about the house such as china silver or glass I leave to Mrs. Short to Mr. Short I give one of my books The Life of Moody. The rest of my wedding presents contained in trunk &c I give to Malcolm sharing with Edwin the silver Butter Cooler Pickle dish and any other useful article.
