CHARLES COOPER, GRATES COVE TO BOARD OF EDUCATION – 1843

Memorial of a Deed bearing date the fourth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three whereby Charles Cooper of Grates Cove Trinity Bay Newfoundland for and in consideration of the sum of four pounds currency which in hand paid the receipt whereof is acknowledged from William Meadows did bargain and sell unto the Board of Education for Trinity Bay South “All his the said Charles Coopers right claim and title in a piece of land in Grates Cove Harbour dimensions thirty eight feet in length and thirty two feet in breadth bounded on the south part by George Shaws property and on the East by the Church burial ground” To Have and to Hold unto the said Board of Education and their perpetual successors for ever and the Board of Education for Trinity Bay South as aforesaid.

I hereby certify that the execution of the Deed of which the foregoing is a Memorial appears by the affidavit of Thomas Cooper one of the subscribing witnesses to have been proved before John Regan a Justice of the Peace on the fourth day of July at Old Perlican in the year one thousand eight hundred and forty four and the same is hereby actually registered by me this day. Given under my hand this twenty third day of July one thousand eight hundred and forty four AD 1844. The same Deed was Received in Office by me on the nineteenth day of July one thousand eight hundred and forty four. Given under my hand this twenty third day of July as aforesaid.
