Robert Clarke deceased

In the name of God Amen. I Robert Clarke now residing in Cuckold's Cove, being of a sane mind but in great weakness of body do by this make my last will & testament as follows-

First I commend my soul into the hands of Almight God in the hope that he will receive it for the sake & through the merits of Jesus Christ.
Item. I give & bequeath to my dear wife Ellen Clark the sum of Two hundred & Forty pounds, eighteen shillings & eight pence now in the hands of J.B. & G. Garland Esqrs Merchants in Poole. Also the sum of One hundred pounds cash now in my possession together with all other sums of money which may be lawfully owing to me at the time of my death, after all my debts & funeral expences are paid.

Item. I give & bequeath to my dear wife Ellen Clark my dwelling house stores & stages, boats & fishing craft & all other utensils thereto belonging, for her natural life, & at her death the same to be divided share & share alike, between my two sons William Clarke & Richard Clarke.

Item. I give & bequeath to my dear wife Ellen Clarke my pew in the established Church.

Item. I give & bequeath to the Church Wardens of Trinity the sum of Two pounds to be applied to the use of the Established Church.

Lastly I do hereby appoint my friend George Skelton Esqr & Thomas Drawbridge Esqur executors of this my last will and testament: & I do hereby revoke all former will or wills by me made.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal at Cuckolds Cove this twenty sixth day of October one thousand eight hundred & twenty seven. Robert his X mark Clark [LS] Signed sealed Published & declared by the testator as & for his last will & testament, in the presence of us who have subscribed our names in his presence & in the presence of each other as witnesses thereto.
