This is the last Will and Testament of me, James Reid of Hearts Delight, Trinity Bay, Nfld, Merchant. I hereby revoke all former wills by me at any time made, and declare this to be my last Will and Testament. I hereby nominate Constitute and appoint as my Trustees and Executors the Minister of the Methodist Church, residing at Hearts content, at the time of my death, and my son-in-law Hedley Harnum of Hearts Content.

First, I direct my Executors and Trustees to pay my just debts, personal and testamentary expenses.

Second. I give devise and bequeath to my wife Lily Ann Reid the whole estate and effects heritable and movable, real and personal, belonging to me at the time of my death. The aforesaid estate is to be my wife's absolutely until the time of her death.

Third, I hereby appoint, or direct that the time of my wife's death my house and all its contents, the ground upon which the house stands, with the outhouses & ground immediately surrounding the house, shall become the property of my son Howard. I also direct that all my remaining property, that is all except that which is to become my son Howard's, shall be equally divided between all my other children.

In witness hereof I have subscribed these presents with by (?) the Reverend Henry Godfrey at Hearts Delight this 6 sixth day of February nineteen hundred and seventeen. James Reid. Signed published and declared by the above named Testator, as, and for his last Will and Testament, in the presence of us both, at the same time, who at his request, and in his presence, have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses. Witness. Name James Wiseman Address Hearts Delight. Name Gilbert Crocker Address Hearts Delight.
