John Pike & Andy Walsh

Seated at left:

John Pike (1877-1955) of Eel Brook, Long Point, Bellevue (Tickle Harbour).

Standing at right:

Andy Walsh (b. 1886, Bellevue, TB) (of Thomas Walsh & Elizabeth Lynch), married to Sarah Power (b. 1893, Chapel Arm, TB), sister of Clara Power (b. 1879, Chapel Arm, TB). *Photo taken at Poppy's Hile, Bellevue, ca. 1950-55, in front of Andy Walsh's house. According to community history, Andy Walsh was affectionately known as "Poppy". In addition, there were three unrelated groups of Walshes living in Bellevue at that time, one presumably from Trinity, TB, one from Cape St. Mary's, or southern shore and the other from the St. John's area (Thomas Walsh personal communication, Bellevue, Sept. 2010).

*Donated as a gift to the Pike family of Bellevue in Oct. 2009 by Dorena Hayse, grand-daughter of John Hayse & Monica Pike (b. 1900 Sound Island, P.B., of John Pike & Clara Power). Used by permission.
