Passed away at the Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre on May 11th, 2000, Abigail Elizabeth Croucher (nee Keeping) in her 78th year. She leaves to mourn her devoted husband of 58 years, Cyril and four loving children, Clayton and Bernice of Whale Cove, George and Sarah of Burnt Islands, Lillian (Samuel) Stowbridge of Harbour Breton, Marina (Gary) Fudge of Burnt Islands; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Angus and Julia of Burnt Islands; sisters, Queenie (Phillip) Enwood, Christina (Ephraim) MacDonald of Burnt Islands. She was predeceased by her brothers, Samuel, Levi and William. Funeral services took place on May 14th, 2pm at Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall, officiated by Stephen Tait. Passed peacefully away on May 25th, 2000 at the Calder Health Care Center, Burgeo after a short illness, Wilfred Cutler Sr., in his 80th year. Leaving to mourn his wife, Annie; son, Wilfred (Eunice) at Ramea; daughters, Frances (Mark) Courtney of English Harbour West, and Colleen (Gordon) Lushman of Guelph, Ont.; one brother, Nathan (Edna) at Bonavista; seven grandchildren. Born on the island of Newfoundland in Port aux Basques, James Albert Matthews made his final journey home in his 83rd year on June 30th, 2000 at the St. Catherines General Hospital. Husband of 63 years to Minnie Beatrice who sat by his side to see him off. Jim was the father of Lorrain (Claude ) Young, James (Bernice) Matthews and Allan Matthews. Survived by his brother John and sister, Laura Strickland of Newfoundland and Stanely of Nova Scotia. Predeceased by his sons, Clifford, Gerald and Roy and his brothers, Isadore, Edgar, Clarence and his sister Blanche Meade. Funeral services were held at Hulse and English Funeral Home and Chaple, St Catherines on July 4th 11am. Private family interment followed in Victoria Lawn Cemetery, St. Catherines. |

Leaving to mourn her daughter, Eileen Kendall of Halifax; four sons, Eric (Irene) at Dominion, NS, Mark (Frances) of English Harbour West, Clayton (Pearl) at Kelligrews, Edgar (Barbara) of Gander; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; two brothers, Washburn (Maude) Pink of Burgeo and Edgar (Florence) Pink of Gander. She was predeceased by her husband, John Courtney, granddaughter, Sonya, two brothers, Samuel and Albert, three sisters, Victoria, Winnifred and Elizabeth.
