Will of William Walter Martin

IN RE:   WILLIAM WALTER MARTIN.    DECEASED

I William Walter Martin of Port Aux Basques in the District of Burgeo and LaPoile Newfdland being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last Will and testament in manner and form following That is to say.

    I. I give devise and bequeath to my wife Lillian Maud Martin, during her life or while she remains unmarried, all my property consisting of Dwelling house and land, also the property purchased from George Scott of Port Aux Basques and all other property not herein specified.

    II. I further give devise and bequeath to my said wife Lillian Maud Martin all monies derived from my Life Insurance, and from my share in the business known and operated under the name of Martin Brothers as well as a certain amount now in the possession of my brother John Martin and all other monies not herein specified on conditions that my said wife shall care for and bring up my four children, Walter, Margaret, Dorothy and Lloyd, and at her death or marriage all property and monies remaining to be disposed of as follows

    (a) My Dwelling house and land I give to my son Walter.
    (b) The house and land purchased from Mr. George Scott I give to my son Lloyd
    (c) All other properties and monies to be divided equally between my four children as above named.

    III. Further. Should my wife Lillian Maud Martin find it necessary from any unforseen conditions or circumstances to relinquish the care of my children - Then she shall receive as her portion one third of my real and personal Estate the other two thirds to be divided equally between my surviving children.

    IV. I hereby appoint my brother Frederick Martin sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament.

    Signed by the Testator in our presence, and declared by him to be his last Will and Testament, who in his presence and in the presence of each other have set our hand as witnesses thereof, this twenty fourth day of September One thousand nine hundred and twenty four.
