The Last
will of William Warren
late of Channel-Gentleman deceased. This is the last will and Testament of me William Warren of Channel in the Southern District of Newfoundland Gentleman. I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Sarah Warren for her own sole use and benefit during her life time my dwelling house store house coal house and household furniture and utensils of every description and my garden all situate in Channel aforesaid and the sums of one hundred and twenty dollars per annum to be taken from monies belonging to me and now in Bank in Halifax, Nova Scotia and St. John’s Newfoundland at the death of my said wife I give devise and bequeath my dwelling house coal house store house furniture and Garden hereinbefore described unto my grandson William Warren Herridge absolutely. Of the residue of money if any remaining in bank after the death of my wife I bequeath one half unto my daughter Katherine Herridge and the other half to the surviving children of my late daughter Magdalene Power share and share alike I give devise and bequeath all my land situate on the north side of Main Road commencing ten feet east from the well and extending to the eastward to my boundary and all the land now occupied by my son in law Adam Power unto my four grandsons John Power James Power William Power and Adam Power in equal proportions. I give devise and bequeath all the land and premises now occupied by my son-in-law George Herridge unto my daughter Katherine Herridge absolutely. I give devise and bequeath the site on which my stage now stands unto the sons of my late daughter Magdalene Power and unto the sons of my daughter Katherine Herridge to be used by them as a landing place and not to be sold and I request that they keep the said stage in good repair for their joint use and benefit I appoint my wife Sarah Warren and the Reverend Jabez R. Saint at present of Channel aforesaid Methodist minister to be executors of this my will and revoke all previous wills by me at any time heretofore made and declare this writing to be my last will and Testament. In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand this twentieth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and four William his X mark Warren Signed by the said William Warren the Testator by making his mark after the said will had been read over to and approved of by the said Testator in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other at the same time subscribed our names as witnesses William Grant of Channel Nf. Medical Doctor Robert T. Squarey of Channel Nf. Magistrate I certify the foregoing to be correct copy of the last will of William Warren D. M.
