Transcriber's Note: This name is spelled Shepherd in the will and Sheppard
in the will index. In re Henry Shepherd deceased. The will of Henry Shepherd, School-Master, Pass Island Hermitage Bay Newfoundland. I desire if it should please God for me to die on this Island to be buried in a modest Christian manner at the least possible expense and after my lawful debts are paid I give and bequeath unto the Church of England Orphan Asylum the sum of fifteen pounds currency and I also give and bequeath to the Bishopric Endowment Fund for the Church of England in Newfoundland the sum of ten pounds cy- and the remaining property which may belong to me at my death I give and bequeath to my brother Benjamin Parkman Shepherd native of St. James’ Bristol and late Bookseller, the Mall, Clifton England and I further desire the Revd Edward Colley to be executor of this will- In witness whereof I give my hand and seal this seventeenth day of January 1872 A.D.
