Will of George Keppel White

IN RE:   GEORGE KEPPEL WHITE .    DECEASED

This is the last will and Testament of me George Keppel White of Burgeo in the Island of Newfoundland Telegraph Operator I appoint my brother Frederic Hills White of St. Pierre Superintendent of the Anglo American Telegraph Company staff, and Hon George M. Johnson Judge of the Supreme Court St. John’s Newfoundland to be the executors of this my last will and Testament. I direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses be first paid out of my Estate

I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Ellen Hoyt and to my son William Keppel White the sum of one hundred dollars each. I also give devise and bequeath unto my son William Keppel White my land situate near Rocky Point at Harbor Briton also the family pictures of my Grandfather George Keppel White and that of my father and mother which are now contained in my dwelling house at Burgeo aforesaid Also two razors engraved with my Grandfather’s name and bearing the date 1836. Also the silver watch which belonged to my father William Keppel White It is my will and desire that should my said son die during my lifetime the said land at Hr. Briton and said family pictures and also said razors and watch shall be held in trust for my Grandson George Archibald White

I give and bequeath unto my Executors the residue of my Estate In trust for the benefit of my wife Margaret Francis White with full power to my executors to convert all landed property and shares into money and invest the same at their discretion And to pay the income or profits derived therefrom unto my said wife during her lifetime or so long as she remains a widow Should my said wife die or remarry then the income derived from the residue of my Estate as aforesaid shall be paid by my executors for the support maintenance and education of any child or children which may be born of my said wife as aforesaid until the youngest shall have reached the age of 21 years when the residue of my Estate shall be divided equally amongst them share and share alike In the event of my said wife Margaret Frances White dying or remarrying and there being no child or children born of her the said residue of my Estate shall be equally divided amongst my children Mary Ellen Hoyt and William Keppel White. In witness whereof I have subscribed my name at Burgeo aforesaid This twenty-seventh day of December A.D. 1907 - George Keppel White -
