Will of Ebenezer Thompson from Newfoundland will books volume 10 pages 339-340 probate year 1915

In re     EBENEZER THOMPSON      deceased.

    This is the last will and testament of me, Ebenezer Thompson of Hermitage Cove in the Electoral District of Fortune in the Island of Newfoundland, Physician.     I revoke all former wills by me at any time made, and I appoint Donald M. Browning of St. John’s in the said Island, one of His Majesty’s Counsel, the executor of this my will.     I give and bequeath to my said executor my land and house at Hermitage Cove aforesaid upon trust to permit George Aquila Hunt Ball, son of my deceased friend George Ball of Rencontre, to occupy the same and enjoy the rents, issues and profits thereof until the said George Aquila Hunt Ball attains the age of twenty-one years, provided that the said George Aquila Hunt Ball shall keep the said land and the buildings thereon in good condition and repair, but otherwise, and in any case upon the said George Aquila Hunt Ball attaining the said age of twenty-one years, upon trust for my grandchild Winifred Pike, and to be conveyed to her upon her attaining the age of twenty-one years.
    I give and bequeath to the two daughters of the said George Ball deceased the sum of Two hundred dollars ($200.00) each.     I give and bequeath to my said executor all the rest, residue and remainder of my property, including my house on Belvidere Street St. John’s, my insurance in the Metropolitan Life of New York, and my money, upon trust to apply the rents issues and profits and income thereof for the support maintenance and education of my said grandchild Winifred Pike until she attains the age of twenty-one years or marries, whichever event shall first occur, and upon her attaining the said age or marrying, then upon trust to convey the corpus thereof to her for her own use and benefit.     And I appoint my said executor Guardian of my said grandchild Winifred Pike, and empower him, if he sees fit, to advance out of the corpus of the property for her support, maintenance and education as aforesaid such sums as he may deem necessary or proper.     In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my hand at St. John’s aforesaid this twenty-second day of April 1910.     E. Thompson.     Signed published and declared by the testator as and for his last will and testament in presence of us, both being present at the same time, who in his presence and at his request hereunto subscribe ourselves as witnesses attesting the due execution hereof:- Chas.
