The vessel "New Key", Captain Leys, from Newfoundland for Appledore/Barnstaple, was taken Oct 16, off Cape Clear, by a small French Sloop Privateer of 6 Guns; but on Oct 24; the French Privateer was drove up the Bristol Channel, and being very leaky, they surrendered themselves to the English prisoners on board, who carried them into Appledore. The Newfoundland ship was earlier parted with, off Scilly.

Arrived at Ross, Ireland, from Newfoundland, the vessel "Ross Merchant", Captain Moore.
The "Ranger", Captain Glover, from Newfoundland for Poole, drove out of Studland Bay, in the late storm, and lost. All the crew but one man were saved.
The "Le Peirre de Grace", Captain Leques, and the "Sanveur", Captain Labbe, both from Newfoundland, for Marseilles, are taken by the "Rupert" & "Guernsey", Men of War, and carried into Gibralter.

Arrived at Poole, from Newfoundland, the vessel "John", Captain Waldron. Who came out with the "Kinsale", Man of War; and the Trade bound to Portugal; but parted with them in a hard gale of wind, which obliged them to bear away for England.
