Freshwater - Holy Rosary Cemetery (Part 2)

Freshwater is a small community adjacent to the town of Placentia, in Placentia Bay. The community is built along the hillside, overlooking the harbour entrance into the town of Placentia. The Holy Rosary Cemetery is located about two thirds up the side of the hill, approximately one kilometer from the church. The cemetery is well groomed and very organized, with most of the graves attended to on a regular basis. The center of the cemetery is reserved for the deceased whose remains were exhumed from the old Argentia cemetery and interred in this common grave at Freshwater in 1942. Several of these headstones are very old and quite difficult to decipher.

These headstones were read, recorded and transcribed by FRANK KING and HEATHER KING, July 2000. While we have endeavored to be as correct as humanly possible, there could be some typographical errors.
