Will of Philip Davis

In re: PHILIP DAVIS. DECEASED

In the name of God Amen. This is the last will and Testament of me Philip Davis Planter of Fox Harbor Placentia Bay. I appoint John Davis of Fox Harbor executor of this my last will and Testament.

1. I will devise and bequeath to the R.C. Chapel at Fox Harbor the sum of Two Hundred Dollars.

2 I will the sum of one Hundred Dollars to my wife for the purpose of having the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass celebrated one hundred times for the repose of my soul as soon as convenient after my decease.

3 I will devise and bequeath my money as follows to my wife Norah I give the one Thousand Dollars and interest thereon in the Newfoundland Savings Bank - I also give her whatever money is in the house at the time of my death. The money in the Bank of Montreal amounting to over ten thousand dollars I will devise and bequeath to my wife two sons and four daughters share and share alike

4 I will devise and bequeath my property as follows: To my son Patrick I will the two fishing boats with all their gear also the three stores and stage and the land and water side on which they are situated. I also give him the farm on the hill. I will devise and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife Norah the dwelling house and all that is in it, the shop and the ground about the house and shops The meadow at the neck separated by a drain I will the Eastern side to my daughter Kate and the western side to my son Patrick.

5 I will that my just debts be paid as soon as possible after my decease

6. I hereby revoke all wills by me at anytime heretofore made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand at Fox Harbor this 5th day of June A.D. one thousand nine hundred and seven first read over and explained Philip Davis Signed by the testator and acknowledged by him to be his last will and testament who in his presence and in the presence of each other at the same time at his request we have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses Richard Davis James Kent.
