Newton Park School Ayr Nov. 23/16. Dear John:- Just a few lines to you hoping to find you well, I am well and leaving here in a few days time for France. I may never get back if I don't will you please divide the money I have left between my brothers and take the shares and sell them and will you draw my life Insurance also pay the policy and hold the money until you hear I am not going back, I am leaving the house to Benjamin's son Albert also the stores and all the place I will be glad if you will see that everything is arranged allright I cant fix the price to anything as it mightent(?) suit at all I will leave that for yourself to fix you will please see that nothing is touched until you hear I have gone under I hope you won't have to trouble about anything I may get back in a few months time but if I don't get back and dident(?) make any arrangements there would be a misstep. I will close this now with kind regards to all from your cousin John Henry P.S. Many thanks for the money which I received allright.
