Rt Rev Monsignor Vincent F. Reardon deceased This is the last will and testament of me Vincent Francis Reardon Parish Priest of Placentia, in the Dominion of newfoundland, made this twenty third day of February, in the year of Our Lord One thousand nine hundred and Twenty. I revoke all former wills and Testamentary Dispositions by me, at any time made heretofore, and declare this only to be and to contain my last will and Testament. I direct all my just debts, Funeral expenses also Testamentary expenses, to be paid and satisfied by my Executors, hereinafter to be named, as soon as conveniently may be after my discease. I give and bequeath all my Estate, of which I may die possessed, in the manner following, that is to say;- I give and bequeath to my sister Elizabeth Jack, my victory War Loan Bonds, Government Loan Bonds [AD.1920] Debentures [4 per cent] Shares in the Colonial Cordage Company St. John's and all my money at interest in the newfoundland Savings Bank [Placentia Branch] and on Deposit in the Royal Bank of Canada [Placentia Branch] or elsewhere deposited, as moreover all moneys lawfully mine or in my possession at time of my discease, to have and to Hold for her sole use and benefit - Out of the interests and income to be derived from above mentioned bonds, Debentures, Shares and Deposits it is my will and desire that Elizabeth Jack aforesaid, shall yearly and as often as may be considered necessary, help my Stepsister Ellen Flaherty at present residing in New York USA and see that she [Ellen Flaherty] shall never be in want, during her natural term of her life - I hereby direct that whatever household property I may be possessed of at time of my discease, shall be sold to best advantage, that is to say; All household Furniture, Silver ware Pictures Ornaments, Cutlery, Glassware, Carpets, Rugs, Tablelinen, Books, Astronomical instruments, Telephones, Uni-lectric Machine Kitchen utensils, Stock of Coal, Cattle, together with all personal effects, such as are not herein named, or otherwise disposed of by me. These shall be sold by public auction, or to my successor, or otherwise as my Executors may consider advisable. The proceeds of such sale shall be applied as follows viz: in payment of personal debts, funeral expenses, Testamentary expenses, Erection of a Tombstone at my grave, and to provide for the fulfillment of Mass Intentions, left unfulfilled at time of my discease. Should the proceeds of such sale. not realize sufficient, be cover the indebtedness and obligations referred to, I hereby direct the balance of my indebtedness to be paid out of whatever dues, Pew Monies, or other Parochial monies to which I may have claim. The residue [if any] after such obligations shall have been fulfilled I will and bequeath to my sister Elizabeth Jack and to my Stepsister Ellen Flaherty, share and share alike, for their absolute use and benefit, I will and bequeath my Piano and music score to my God-child, Margaret Kiely, I will and bequeath my Gold watch and Chain to Rev Thomas Flynn R.C.Priest of the Archdiocese of St. John's, requesting that in his charity, he will remember me, in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. I commend my soul to the all-merciful God and nominate, as my Executors the following viz; Rev Francis D. Ryan, parish priest of St. Brides and James J. McGrath B.A. Solicitor, St. John's.
