William Dean

In re
William Dean deceased

I, William Dean of Bonne Bay, district of St. Barbe, in the Dominion of Newfoundland, fisherman; being of sound mind and memory, and considering the uncertainty of this transitory life, do therefore make and declare this to be my last Will and Testament, that is to say:

First. It is my will at all my funeral expenses and other debts be paid out of my estate as soon as possible after my demise.

Secondly. I bequeath to my niece, Mrs. John Neville, the dwelling house occupied by me, with the assurance of a place into it until my death.

Thirdly. I bequeath to Lawrence Neville, father of John and Edward Neville, the little fishing boat used by me.

Fourthly. I request that the property, fishing store, land, two herring nets, seven net moorings, and two anchors now at St. Joseph's Cove, be sold and the proceeds be deposited in the Bank of Nova Scotia, at Bonne Bay.

Fifthly. That all outstanding debts when collected, be deposited as above specified. Then these several deposits, together with the sum of five hundred [500.00] dollars at interest which was invested in the Spokane valley, & Northern Railway Company, on the twenty ninth day of April, in the year of our Lord, 1919; become the possession of my beloved niece, Nellie Dean.

Sixthly. I hereby state that this is my last Will and Testament thereby canceling all former wills by me made; and I hereby appoint the Rev. Walter Brennan of Bonne Bay, as its executor.

In witness whereof I, the testator have hereunto set my hand this eighteenth day of May in the year of our Lord, nineteen hundred and nineteen. William his X mark Dean. Signed and declared by the testator as and for his last Will and Testament, in the presence of us both, who in his presence and at his request, and in the presence of each other, have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
