In re     WILLIAM ELLIOTT deceased

    The last will and testament of William Elliott Planter of Fogo in the Northern District of Newfoundland     I William Elliott considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory, do hereby make this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say.
First I give devise and bequeath to my grand son William all property whatsoever I may die possessed of viz Buildings Gardens, land, and fishing gear of every description for his sole use and benefit to have and to hold for his heirs and assigns for ever. My wife Julia to have the sole use of that part of the dwelling house, with furniture now used and enjoyed by myself dureing the remainder of her life.
Secondly, I give and bequeath to the Church of England in Fogo, the sum of Fifty dollars to be used towards the erection of a new Church, or if said Church should be built and free of debit, the said money to be used for the benefit of the Church as the Pastor in charge shall consider adviseable
Thirdly I give and bequeath to my grand son William, the sum of one hundred dollars and each of my grand daughters Julia Elina and Daisy, the sum of Thirty dollars, to Margaret Elliott widow of my son George the sum of Thirty dollars.
Fourthly, After all my just and lawfull debts are paid, I give and bequeath to my wife, Julia, all money whatever, it may be that I die possessed of, to be enjoyed by her during the remainder of her life, at her death whatever money may be remaining, after all her just and lawful debts is paid, to be divided equaly between my three grand children William, Julia Elina and Daisy, for their sole use and benefit.
Lastly I constitute Harvey L. Hodge as my executor to execute this my last will and testament, revoking all former wills by me made. As witness my hand this 19th day of March 1914 at Eastern Tickle Fogo Nfld.     William Elliott     William Elliott the testator in the presence of us, who in his presence, and in the presence of each other, at the same time, subscribe our names as witnesses.
