IN RE: NICHOLAS MAHONEY. DECEASED
I, Nicholas Mahoney, Planter, of Tilting, hereby make this my last Will and Testament, and I appoint my brother, Michael Mahoney, to be Executor of this my Will. Of the money belonging to me, at present on deposit with the Bank of Nova Scotia, in Fogo, I leave to my grandson John Mahoney, fifty dollars. To my grandson, Nicholas Walsh, fifty dollars. For Masses for the repose of my soul, fifty dollars. For the erection of a headstone to my memory twenty-five dollars. The balance to be handed to the priest, for Tilting Church. To my grandson, John Mahoney, I leave my dwelling house, Store and Stage, also my garden near the Lookout Hill. To my brother Michael, I leave my fishing boat, with all her belongings, collar chain etc. also my Codnets, my garden in Pumbly Cove, horse, harness, and slide. To my son-in-law, Stephen Walsh, I leave my new punt. Signed by me in the presence of witnesses, who have also affixed their signatures the twentieth day of February, in the year of Our Lord, one thousand nine hundred, and twenty four.
