Will of Joseph Vallis

In re: JOSEPH VALLIS. DECEASED

In the name of God Amen. I Joseph Vallis late of the Parish of Shepton Montague near Wincanton Somersetshire, but now of Twillingate in the Northern District of Newfoundland being of sound mind memory and understanding and considering the uncertainty of human life do make this my last will and testament as follows, that is to say, First I give and bequeath unto Aaron Moors son of the late Jacob Moors of Twillingate aforesaid the sum of five pounds currency. Secondly, The remainder of my property consisting of monies dues, debts, claims and bequests together with all personal property to me belonging at the time of my decease I give and bequeath in five equal shares as follows, namely, one share to my brother James Vallis one share to my brother Richard VALLis one share to my brother Samuel Vallis one share to my sister Jane and one share to the children of my late sister Ann Talbot. Lastly I do hereby constitute make and ordain Mr. Samuel Moors of Twillingate aforesaid only and sole executor of this my last will and testament and also do utterly disallow disannul and revoke all and every other will or wills by me at any time heretofore made ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my only last will and testament.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal at Twillingate in Newfoundland aforesaid the fifth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine.
