In re: JOHN NIPPARD. DECEASED.

Hare Bay Newfoundland November 25th 1871. This is the last will and testament of John Nippard of Hare Bay, Fogo, Newfoundland, Planter. I give and bequeath to my wife Mary Nippard while she remains unmarried my dwelling house in Hare Bay Harbor together with all the furniture therein contained and after the death of my said wife Mary Nippard I give and bequeath the said dwelling house together with the fishing room on which said dwelling house is situate with all the gardens and outhouses on said room, one half to my son Richard Nippard and the other half to my son Thomas Nippard, together with all my boats and nets employed in the fishery share and share alike

I give and bequeath to my son James Nippard my fishing room at Fox Head Cove with all the gardens and other property thereon. I give and bequeath to my said wife Mary Nippard providing she remains unmarried Thirty pounds Newfoundland currency, and I further give and bequeath to my children hereinafter named the following sums of money that is

to say to my eldest son Richard Nippard, thirty pounds Newfoundland currency,

to my son Thomas Nippard thirty pounds,

to my son James Nippard thirty pounds,

to my daughter Jane Nippard thirty pounds

to my daughter Harriet Nippard thirty pounds

to my daughter Fanny Nippard thirty pounds and

to my daughter Susannah Nippard thirty pounds all of Newfoundland currency.

And it is my will that all of the above named monies remain at interest in the Newfoundland Savings Bank and is further my will that the said monies shall remain in said Savings Bank Saint John’s for a term of fifteen years and during that time if any of my daughters shall get married her portion or share of such money shall not exceed fifteen pounds Newfoundland currency the remaining part to go back to my wife and other unmarried daughters share and share alike. I appoint the Reverend C. Meek of Fogo and Hay Findlater Esq. J.P. to be executors of this my will.
