In re In the name of God Amen. I John Jeans Senr of Change Island Acting Agent for the firm of Owen & Earle at present of perfect mind and memory but not knowing the time of my death do make and ordain this my last will & testament That is to say principally I commend my soul to God who gave it my body to the earth to be buried in Decent Christian burial at the discretion of my executors- As touching my worldly estate to be disposed as follows First I leave my beloved wife Patience Jeans if she survive me all monies belonging to me wither in the house at the Bank or werever it may be My wish is for my wife the said Patience Jeans to receive all said monies to her own use & to live in the house & be made as comfortable as curcumstances will allow during her lifetime After her death if any money remain to be put in three parts a third part to John Jeans Jur a third part to our daughter Dinah Terravell the other part to our grandchildren Edgar and Stanly Jeans if they live if one die the survivor to have it My Room & all chattels including houses stage gardens nets with every kind of property belong to me one half to belong to my son John Jeans Junr whom I make sole executor of this my last will & testament the other half to belong to my two grandchildren Edgar & Stanley Jeans if they both live if either dies the other to have the whole half The last named children to have no claim on any of the said property until they are eighteen years of age, John Jeans Junr after my decease to have the sole management. If the Room is rented to turn over half the rent to the said Edgar & Stanley Jeans for part support and to aid them in every lawful way in his power & not to turn their mother Sabina Jeans from the Room but to remain with her children if she choose to do so. Also Susannah Porter to remain until she is able to provide for herself in some other way Given under my hand & seal this twenty eight day December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & seventy six John Jeans Sr (LS) Signed and sealed in presence of us Salomon Roberts Justinian Dowell. I hereby utterly disavow revoke and disannul all bequeths legacies or whatever may have been written by me aforetime John Jeans Sr. Dec. 28th 1876.
