In re HENRY OXFORD deceased.
This is the last will and testament of me Henry Oxford of HERRING Neck Newfoundland Planter. I hereby revoke all other wills by me made. I appoint John Philpott and my wife Isabella Oxford, to be my executor and executrix and direct that all my funeral expenses shall be paid as soon as conveniently may be after my decease.
1st I give, devise and bequeath unto my wife Isabella Oxford my dwelling house that at present I live in, together with all beds, bedding and furniture of whatsoever description in the said dwelling house, to be hers absolutely for her sole use and benefit, to have sole and absolute control
2ndly I give devise and bequeath unto my two sons Eli and Thomas, all my fishing room and lands, (except on which the aforesaid dwelling house stands) to be used and owned by them share and share alike.
3rdly It is my will and desire that my sons Eli and Thomas will live in peace and harmony and above all, be kind and good to their mother In witness whereof I the said Henry Oxford have to this my last will and testament set my name this twenty ninth December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety eight Henry his X mark Oxford Signed by the said Henry Oxford the testator by affixing his mark thereto in our presence, who in his presence, and in the presence of each other at the same time subscribe our names as witnesses the same being read over & explained and acknowledged to be his will.
