In re HENRY COLLINS. DECEASED.
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost Amen. I Henry Collins
of Herring Beck(?) in the Island of Newfoundland being of sound mind and memory, do make,
ordain publishe and declare this to be my last will and testament: that is to say,
First after all my lawful debts are paid and discharged and a tombstone erected to my
memory in the Church yard I give bequeath and dispose of the residue of my Estate real and
personal as follows to wit
to my son Elias Collins all my Room consisting of dwelling house store house, meadow,
household furniture skiffs and anything else situated on the same:
to my two sons Elias Collins and James Collins equally between them share and share alike
all my land and gardens detached and away from my Room.
To the clergyman of the Church of England in charge of the Mission at Herring Neck to be
spent by him on St. Marys Church in a manner most conducive to the glory of God and the
benefit of His people who worship therein, twenty pounds as soon as possible after my
decease.
To my six grandchildren namely Mary Dinah daughter of William Collins, James Henry son of
James Collins, Jane daughter of Elias Collins, Eli son of Amelia Smart, Eli son of
Elizabeth Smart, and William John son of Alice Brown all the remainder of my money to be
equally divided amongst them share and share alike. Likewise, I make constitute and appoint
Richard Philpotts and George Florence to be Executors of this my last will and testament,
hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this first day of March in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine -

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Henry Collins the testator in the
presence of us who in the presence of each other subscribe our names as witnesses, the same
being read over and explained to the said Henry Collins.
