This is the last will and Testament of Benjamin Rossiter, a native of Stermister Newton, England, now residing at Back Harbour Twillingate, Colony of Newfoundland.
    First. I give “devise” and bequeath to my son Amos Rossiter the whole of my water side fishing property, and fishing gear of every description situate at Back Harbour, Twillingate, etc., my dwelling house in which I now reside, my stores, out-houses, stable and all erections of whatever description, “my cattle”, potato garden, grass lands and any other land wheresoever situate in short whatever is mine or whatever I may have a legal claim to at the time of my decease, unless otherwise disposed of in this my will. I give and bequeath to my son Amos Rossiter as aforesaid.
    Second. I give and bequeath to my wife.” Ann Rossiter, my household furniture and effects to be enjoyed by her for her use and benefit during the term of her natural life and at her decease the same is to be the property of my son Amos Rossiter. I also give and bequeath to my wife Ann Rossiter, all cash I may have in my possession or any money I may have standing to my credit in the Bank at the time of my decease. I give and bequeath the same to my wife aforesaid for her sole absolute use and benefit to be at her free disposal as she may deem right and proper.
Third. And whereas my daughter, “Eliza Fox” widow of the late William Fox” has been residing with me and her mother for some years past, it is my will and desire that she shall have the right of a residence in my dwelling house so long as she may think right and proper, she remaining un-married, and not removing from the house to reside elsewhere without the consent of her brother Amos, she shall keep behaving herself towards her mother as a kind and dutiful daughter, and rendering to her brother such assistance as may be reasonably expected of a woman.- Should she marry again or leave the premises to reside elsewhere as before mentioned then her interest therein shall cease.
And I hereby nominate constitute and appoint my son Amos Rossiter sole executor of this my last will and Testament. Signed, sealed and declared by the said Benjamin Rossiter as and for his last will and Testament in our presence “who in his presence at his request, and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses thereto:     Signed at Twillingate this second day of January, one thousand nine hundred and six.” January” 6th 1906.
