Will of Archibald Roberts

IN RE:   ARCHIBALD ROBERTS.    DECEASED

I, Archibald Roberts, of Bluff Head Cove, Twillingate, in the Northern District of the Island of Newfoundland, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being of sound mind and memory, do make and publish, this my last will and Testament, thereby revoking all other wills heretofore made by me.

FIRST. That all my property, real and personal, together with income arising from the same, and all monies that I may be possessed of, at the time of my decease, shall remain intact, and be continued in the name of my estate, under the supervision of my two executors. That my estate as a whole, and all profits arising therefrom, shall be operated, and if necessary realized on to the last piece, parcel or dollar, for the full and complete support, comfort and maintenance of my beloved wife HARRIETT ROBERTS, Nee Young, as long as she shall live and remain unmarried. That any surplus profits from year to year over and above the amount necessary for her full and complete, support, comfort and maintenance, to be defined by executors, and placed to the credit of Estates account at a bank. That the Executors shall if considered necessary, see that labour be employed to work the estate, rather than to permit my beloved wife HARRIETT ROBERTS, Nee Young, to be overworked or overburdened at her age of life. Her wishes at all times for her comfort, to be first consideration of executors in matters of the estate.

SECOND. That after the death of my beloved wife HARRIETT ROBERTS, Nee Young, I give, devise and bequeath, all the property of my estate real and personal, together with all monies, accumulations or remains of my estate, at the time of her decease, to my children and Grand-Children, in equal portions. To they and they assigns forever. That the valuation of any part or parcel of the estate, necessary to its distribution, shall on dispute, be settled by arbitration.

LASTLY. I do hereby nominate, appoint and constitute, my son in law, HUBERT CHESLEY ROBERTS, and my son in law, WELLESLEY GEORGE ROBERTS to be executor of this my last will and testament.
