This is the last Will and Testament of me Elizabeth Reddick, of Salt Harbor, Herring-Neck in the District of Twillingate, Newfoundland. My first husband, John Squires of Herring-Neck having left me Elizabeth Squires his then wife, on the twenty-sixth day of August A.D. one thousand eight hundred and ninety, everything he possessed or belonging to him, viz; monies deposited in the savings Bank of St. John's Newfoundland or otherwise, also all his landed property with all the erections thereon for my sole use and benefit to be disposed of by me as I may think proper after my death. And whereas my present husband John Reddick of Herring-Neck, has not lived with me, or provided anything for my support and maintenance whatsoever for the last four years or more, and should I die before him, it is my Will and request that he John Reddick, or any of his family, shall not inherit or come in for any part of my said property or monies invested or otherwise, the property being all my own, to be disposed of by me as I may think proper or wish for after my death. 

First I give, devise, and bequeath to my sister Jane Philpott, widow of Herring-neck, the sum of Two Hundred Dollars for her own absolute use and benefit, out of the monies deposited or invested in the Government Savings Bank in Saint John's Newfoundland. 

Secondly. I wish and direct that my Executors shall place suitable tablets on the walls of the St. Marys church of England, situate in Herring neck, bearing a suitable inscription to the memory of my late husband John Squires, and one for myself [Elizabeth Reddick] after my death. The same to be paid out of the monies in the aforesaid Savings Bank. 

Thirdly. I further wish and direct that whatever monies may be left in the before mentioned Savings Bank after paying my lawful debts, funeral and Testamentary expenses, the before mentioned legacy to my sister Jane Philpott, and costs of the above Tablets. Then I give and devise one half of the net balance shall be paid by my executors to the church wardens as trustees at the time being of the St. Marys church of England in Herring Neck to be used by them in completing or otherwise improving the aforesaid church. The other one half to be invested by my Executors for the benefit of the Church of England school and school master at Herring-Neck. 

Fourthly. I also further wish and direct that all my property situate at Salt Harbor Herring-Neck in the District of Twillingate Newfoundland consisting of lands Dwelling House outhouses, stores, Flakes, stages, wharfs, fields, gardens, and whatsoever belongings to me, shall be sold as soon as it can conveniently and advantageously done by my Executors. The proceeds thereof deducting expenses, shall be paid by them, one Half to the church wardens as trustees of the aforesaid Saint Marys Church at Herring Neck to be used by them for completing or otherwise benefit of the said church as they may in their discretion deem proper. The other one Half of the proceeds to be invested by my Executors for the use and benefit of the Church of England School at Herring Neck and the Interest arising therefrom shall absolutely be for the benefit of the School and School-Master in Equal Shares and I appoint Francis Miles of Salt Harbor Herring Neck and James D. Lockyer agent for George Coster of Herring Neck in the said District of Twillingate, to be my lawful Executors of this my last will, and revoke all previous wills by me at any time heretofore made. In witness whereof I the said Elizabeth Reddick hereunto set my hand this Twenty Second day of June, in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight Hundred and ninety-seven. - Elizabeth her X mark Reddick. Signed by the said Elizabeth Reddick the Testatrix by affixing her mark thereto in our presence who in her presence and in the presence of each other, at the same time subscribed our names as witnesses. This is a codicil to the last will and Testament of me Elizabeth Reddick, of Salt Harbor Herring Neck in the District of Twillingate and Island of N.f.l.d. which will bears date the Twenty-second day of June in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Ninety-seven. Whereas by my said Will Section Fourth I gave and directed that all my property situate at Salt Harbor, Herring Neck should be sold by my Executors and one half of the proceeds thereof be given to the church wardens and St. Marys church at Herring Neck aforesaid, and the other half be invested by my Executors for the use and benefit of the Church of England school and school master in Equal Shares. - 

Now, I revoke the said Section entirely and direct that it shall be null and void. As I have sold and conveyed the said property to James Fudge Planter, of Herring Neck, aforesaid.
