In re
Abraham Dean deceased In the name of God Amen. I Abraham Dean of Seldom Come By in the Island of Fogo Newfoundland being in perfect health of body and of sound mind and memory, and knowing it is appointed unto all men once to die do make this my last will and Testament. That is to say. First. I give and bequeath my soul to Almighty God who gave it and my body to the Earth to be buried after a Christian like manner. Secondly. Concerning all my worldly estate in my possession I give devise and dispose of in the following manner and form. I give all my right and title all and singular of my fishing room and all thereon of movable effects to my Grand Son "Abel Dean" the said Abel Dean to support and maintain me and my wife as long as we both shall live and to give us both a Christian burial at our death. I also give and bequeath to my Grand Son "Abel Dean" all land in my possession at "Seldom Come By" bounded Westward by Solomon Piddells land and Eastward by the bearings Northwest and Southwest to have and to hold by said Abel Dean and to his children after him, and to their succeeding generations, with no power to sell or barter or to pass out of the families of the Deans or their generations for all times to possess and enjoy without undue preference and I do ratify and confirm this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal at Fogo this ninth day of October A.D. one thousand eight hundred and eighty six, having been first read over, and being fully understood by the said Testator, who also, hereby nominates and appoints my son Alfred Dean of Seldom Come By as executor to this my last will and testament as witness my hand and seal. Abraham his X mark Dean.Signed, sealed and delivered by the said Abraham Dean, in the presence of us, as, and for, his last will and Testament, who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
