Will of  Robert Rideout
In re Robert Rideout deceased

Will and Testament of Robert Rideout of Seal Cove, Newfoundland. I Robert Rideout, of Seal Cove Basse Terre Shore Newfoundland being in perfect health and of sound memory do make this my last will and testament written in the presence of God and signed in the presence of the witnesses herein named. My burial expenses and Head stone being first paid I give and bequeath to my wife Esther Rideout of Seal Cove N.F. all the property that I the said Robert Rideout own and possess at the time of my decease including lands, houses, fishing property and monies wherever it may be and by whomsoever held and the said Esther Rideout is then to make use of it as she desires and at her death the property left is to be divided as follows:-all the property at Seal Cove: land, houses and fishing property is to be given to the youngest son then living. The property at the Bight is to be equally divided among the other sons. The money is to be equally divided among all the sons and daughters then living, If the said Esther Rideout shall ever marry she shall receive four hundred dollars but the property shall be divided among the children as it would have been at her death. I hereby name and appoint my two sons Robert Henry and Josiah to be the executors of this my last will and testament. Signed at Seal Cove Newfoundland this seventh day of September A. D. 1899. Robert his X mark Rideout We the undersigned witnesses: Simeon Loveless; Charles Forsey and Ebenezer Thompson, M.D. certify that the said testator Robert Rideout at the time of putting his mark to his signature is in perfect health and sound memory, that the said will was read over to him previous to his putting his said mark to his signature in our presence, that we are witnesses to his signature, and that we signed in his presence and in the presence of each other at Seal Cove aforesaid this seventh day of September A.
