Philip J. F. Laffers deceased.

In the name of God Amen. I Phillip James Frederic Laffers being weak in body, and knowing that it is appointed unto all men once to die do make this my last will and testament- First I desire that my body may be decently interred according to the rites of the Church of England and I commend my soul into the hands of my God and Father trusting in His Mercy and goodness for Jesus Christ’s sake. And after the payment of my just debts and funeral expenses I give and bequeath the residue of my monies and other property either in possession expectancy or reversion to my dear uncle the Reverend John Glynn Childs, rector of the Parish of Saint Denis near Saint Anstell Cornwall his heirs and assigns I appoint the Reverend William Kepple White of Harbor Briton Newfoundland and John White Esquire 11 Pownall Gardens Hounslow Middlesex England executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have set my hand seal at Harbor Briton Newfoundland this twenty first day of December one thousand eight hundred and seventy one.
