In re: JOHN HENRY YOUNG. DECEASED.
This is the last will and testament of John H. Young of Harbor Breton
Newfoundland:-
I herewith give and bequeath the following to my wife Rebecca Young and
my son Hubert Young. One thousand dollars each and the property belonging to
me, to be divided equally between my wife, Rebecca Young and my son Hubert
Young, provided that Hubert Young takes care of his mother, failing to care for his
mother he loses his share of the property above mentioned which goes to the
member of the family undertaking this duty:-
The following to receive one
thousand dollars each, Ernest Young. Charlie Young. George Young. Aveline Yarn.
Telina Young [for services and assistance rendered me] Harvey Young to receive
nine hundred dollars. Olive Young to receive five hundred dollars and on the
death of my wife, Rebecca Young, to receive the residue of any money left by
her:-
Ernest Young to have the ground his house is on and the garden which is at
the other side of this house. Charlie Young to have the ground his house is
on. The garden below the shop is to become the property of George Young:-
Seines(?), nets and gear to be sold and money to be put to my wife Rebecca Youngs
credit, excepting she be living with one of her sons. Herbert Young to own the
horse and horse's outfit:-
Vincent Young to receive seventy five dollars-
Aveline Young to receive seventy five dollars-
Hubert Young to receive three
hundred dollars for wages-
The balance of my estate and effects is to be used for
my funeral expenses, other expenses that may have to be paid, and four
headstones for cemetery at St. Jacques, Newfoundland, any monies that may remain is to
be divided equally between the four sons and the daughter, that is, Ernest,
Charlie, George, Hubert Young and Aveline Yarn.
And I hereby appoint the Revd Mr.
Mercer, rural dean of Fortune Bay, to be Executor of this my last will and I
revoke all former wills and codicils. Dated this 28th day of November 1918.
