The following document was photocopied from a Land Deed Regristry Book, and was given to me by William Dawson. I have transcribed the information to the best of my ability. I've added punctuation to make reading easier.
Indenture And This Indenure also Witnesseth that for the consideration aforesaid the said Mortgagor as beneficial owner hereby assigns and conveys unto the said Mortgagee all that piece or parcel of land, farm and premises situate at Holyrood aforesaid lately occupied by the said Mortgagor, together with all the cattle, horses, carts, carriages, and farming implements and utensils and all household furniture goods and effects contained and being thereupon and therein. To Hold the same unto and to the use of the said Mortgagee foever and absolutley.
Provided that should the said Mortgagor pay to the said Mortgagee the said sum of $256.04 on or before the 31st day of Octover AD 1899 without any deduction and perform and fulfil all covenants and conditions on the Mortgagor's part to be performed or fulfilled, the Mortgagee will at the request and cost of the Mortgagor recover to her the property comprised herein. Sworn at St John's aforesaid this 17th day of July AD 1899. Before me Simon Butler Com. (S.E?)
