Know all men by these Presents that We, Timothy Collins and John Warford, do firmly hold & bind ourselves unto Messrs. Thomey & Kearney of Harbour Grace, Merchants, in the sum of one hundred and thirty-eight pounds, six shillings, & five pence farthing of lawful money of Great Britain to which payment well & truly to be made. We bind ourselves, our Heirs, Executors, Administrators & Assigns with our mutual Goods & Chattels, Lands & Tenements, especially our Boat & Craft with all her materials, Plantation, etc., with all the Buildings and improvements made or to be made thereon, if we the said Timothy Collins & John Warford shall fail in performing the conditions hereunder mentioned.

"The Conditions of this Obligation is such that whereas the above bounden T. Collins & J. Warford stands truly & Justly Indebted to the said Thomey & Kearney in the Sum of One Hundred & Thirty-eight pounds, six shillings & five pence farthing for Goods and Merchandize sold and delivered. If they the said Warford & Collins, their heirs, administrators, & assigns do pay or cause to be paid unto the said Thomey & Kearny, their heirs, administrators and assigns the sum of One Hundred & Thirty-eight pounds, six shillings, & five pence farthing in six equal payments, that is to say, the Sum of Twenty-three pounds, one shilling, one penny, and the like sum of Twenty-three pounds, one shilling, one penny, with lawful interest on or before the Twentieth Day of August, one thousand, seven hundred and ninety [nine?] and so on every Twentyeth Day of August every year until the above sum of One Hundred & Twenty-eight pounds, one shilling & one penny is fully discharged and paid, then this obligation to be void, or else remain, and be in full force.--- In witness whereof we have here unto set our hands & seals in Harbor Grace, this 13th day of February, One Thousand, Seven Hundred and Ninety-Eight.
