"Frederic Hamilton Carrington - Clerk - Bachelor of Arts, of Wudham College, in The University of Oxford, was appointed Missionary, for Harbour Grace & Carbonear in The Island of Newfoundland, at Christmas 1812. He sailed from England on the Twenty Third of April 1813 & By The Blessing, and Protection of Almighty God, arrived safe at his mission on Saturday, June 5th 1813.
N.B. I find that my Predecessor Mr. Anspach made all the entries in this Register, the other Registers (according to his account) not being in a proper state. Where Marriages, Christenings or Burials, take place, at any of the out Harbours in the Bay, it will be always punctually inserted in this Register, & where no place of residence is inserted, it will be taken (as a matter of course) that the Parties belonged to Harbour Grace.
