Harbour Grace

The Petition of Isaac Bartlett

of Bay Roberts Master Mariner

Humbly sheweth

That William Warren late of

Harbour Grace Carpenter died at

Harbour Grace aforesaid the year

Eighteen hundred and seventy six

leaving a will which petitioner is

informed and believes is now in the

hands of the Chief Clerk and Registrar

of this Honorable Court.

That the said William Warren

during his life time borrowed from

Petitioner the sum of two hundred and

forty dollars to be repaid within five

years with interest thereupon at the rate

of six percent per annum.

That the sum of about one hundred

and thirty dollars is now due and

owing by the late estate of the said deceased

to your Petitioner.

That no Probate to the said Will

or administration to the estate of the

said deceased has yet been granted to any

one.

Your Petitioner therefore prays that

Administration to the Estate of the said

deceased be granted to your Petitioner or

to some fit and proper person to be appointed

by this Honorable Court. Isaac Bartlett LS

I have to notify

you that whereas an application

for Administration to the Estate

of your late husband be made

on Monday next by twelve o’clock

noon, I shall apply for Administration

to his Estate on behalf of Mr.

Isaac Bartlett a creditor of the

said Estate.

This is the last Will and

Testament of me William Warren

of Harbour Grace in the Island of Newfoundland

Carpenter in the Eighteen hundred and seventy sixth year (“in the” inserted)

of our Lord.

I William Warren in the full possession

of my reason do give and bequeath to my wife Mary

Warren the Eastward part of my dwelling house

and all the garden in front of the house occupied at

present by myself & wife for the term of her natural life

And at her death I bequeath it, that is the Eastward part

of the house to my son James Warren with half the

garden in front.

I bequeath to my Son William Warren the west

ward part of my dwelling house now occupied by him

self including one room on the first floor & all the

westward end over the first floor, and at the death of

my wife he shall have half the garden in front of the

house.

And I bequeath to my son Charles

Warren all the new house adjoining the South-

west part of my dwelling house and a sitting

room on the first floor being in the Southwest

part of the house. My wife Mary Warren

shall receive the rents from the house that I

bequeath to Charles Warren until he comes or

his heirs to take pofsefsion of the said pro-

perty.
