In re

William Corbin deceased.

This is my last will and testament of me William Corban of Harbor Grace Master Mariner.  After the payment of my just debts and funeral expenses I give devise and bequeath to my brother James Corban the sum of two hundred pounds currency but in case of his decease I give devise and bequeath the said sum to my brother Philip Corban his heirs and assigns for ever. In case that I my heirs or assigns should be entitled to so much out of the estate or under the last will and testament of the late Walter Whelan of Brigus deceased I give devise and bequeath to Honora Hicks, Ellen Connors, Catherine Connors and Margaret Connors their heirs and assigns for ever the following sums of money out of the said estate, viz. to Honora Hicks the sum of fifty pounds currency, to Ellen Connors the sum of fifty pounds curry, to Margaret and Catherine Connors the sum of thirty pounds curry each and the remainder of what I may be entitled to from the said estate to my two brothers Philip and James share and share alike but should I not be entitled to so much out of the said estate the amount to which I may be entitled shall be divided between the said Parties, Honora Hicks, Ellen Connors, Margaret Connors and Catherine Connors, in proportion to the said amount hereinbefore bequeathed to them

I give devise and bequeath to the said Honora Hicks the sum of ten pounds currency and to the said Ellen Connors, Margaret Connors and Catherine Connors the sum of eighteen pounds currency each

for Masses for the benefit of my soul the sum of ten pounds currency and the sum of five pounds currency towards the completion of the Roman Catholic Chapel at Spaniards Bay.

I give devise and bequeath to my brother Philip Corban his heirs and assigns for ever all my right title and interest in the Brigantine or vessel called the “Caroline” and all the boats sails rigging and appurtenances and also all other my property whatsoever not herein before bequeathed and I hereby annul all other wills by me heretofore made and also hereby appointing Robert Walsh and Andrew Drysdale executors to this my last will and testament.

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Wm. Corban as and for his last will and testament in presence of the 6th Decr 1854 the word “hereinbefore” being interlined the word six being erased and the word eighteen substituted,
