WILLIAM HOWELL TO ELIZABETH WILSHEAR – 1826

Deed of Gift or Grant bearing date the seventh day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty, whereby William Howell of Carbonear in the Island of Newfoundland, Carpenter of the one part and Elizabeth Wilshear of Carbonear of the other part, did give and grant unto the said Elizabeth Wilshear for and in consideration of natural affection and other good causes, all the right, title and interest of the same William Howell in a certain plot of land situated in Carbonear aforesaid, bounded on the East by Robert Pack’s Room, on the West by a House and Garden in the occupancy of Solomon Ash, on the North by the public road and on the South by the Sea. To have, hold and enjoy all and singular the said plot of land unto the said Elizabeth Wilshear, her executors, administrators and assigns forever: which said Deed is witnessed by W.W. Bemister, Merchant of Carbonear, the above piece of land admeasures 34 feet east and west. The due execution of the Deed of which the foregoing is a memorial was acknowledged before me by William Howell, a party thereto, on the twenty fifth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six, and the same is hereby actually registered by me this day.

Witness my hand at Harbor Grace, Newfoundland this First day of May, one thousand eight hundred and twenty six 1826.
