In re Thomas Cotter deceased. In the name of God Amen. I Thomas Cotter of Bay de Verde Newfoundland fisherman being of sound mind and memory and calling to mind the uncertainty of life and certainty of death do make and appoint this my last will and testament in manner following viz. I give and bequeath to my son James Cotter all my property situate at Bay de Verde namely Dwelling house and half the Store now occupied by Edward and myself and one third of the Stage now occupied by Michael Hurly Edward Cotter and myself. And the flake or flakes now occupied by myself also all my fishing material such as nets puncheons &c. A home for my wife Mary Cotter unless she should change her name. Signed after having being carefully read over in the presence of. (sgd) Thomas his x mark Cotter witness Thomas his x mark North Sr. John Hennebury Thomas Moore of Andrew.
