IN RE: THOMAS GODDEN. DECEASED
Will. Testamentum I Thos. Godden Clerk in holy orders do hereby make my will toward the deposition of my few effects & money wh may be at my demise to my credit or in my name in the Bank of Montreal in St. John's, my Bank Book No 1380 showing to my credit this year $1419.69 & what may be to my currant acct in the Bank.
I bequeath to my wife my name changed to hers & to be left in the Bank for her maintenance & education of our son Joseph Not to be drawn for speculation or any other purpose And my household effects I wish her to have to hold or dispose of as it may suit best her circumstances. If my cheque shd come fr. National Trust Co Toronto, shortly after my demise I wish it to be returned to either of my sons in Canada.
The little bit of property conveyed by the family to me situated at H. Grace & bounded as follows north by Water St. East by land of late Jos. Godden - & south by waters of the harbour & west by graham's lot. I wish my son Joseph to have & to hold & to sell for his benefit if possible. The Scrip of the waters co. in my name I give to my wife to be classed with what I gave her. The papers of "Trust" between my sons in Canada & myself. I wish to be returned to my son C. P. Godden Esq. 154 King St. Toronto East Canada. I wd. Kindly ask Rev. L. R. Godden & Mr John C. Oke of St. John's to carry out these my wishes as executors for the comfort & well being of my dear wife & son. My funeral expenses to be paid by my wife out of money in her name in P. O. Saving Bank H. Grace written & signed by me in sound mind & senses in presence of Thos. Godden witnesses George V. Davis Margaret Davis H. Grace Jan 13th 1911
